How do I save links to articles in OCLS QUICKsearch and EBSCO databases?

A permalink is the permanent "address" for the article and will take you there every time.

When you are using OCLS databases, the link in your browser window changes each time you log in. If you save this URL or link, you will not be able to get back to the article.

The link in your browser window is not the permalink

To copy a permalink to an article:

EBSCO Databases Tools Menu click Permalink.

  • Click Permalink in the Tools menu.

  • A Permalink box will appear above the article title.

  • Select this URL and Copy (CRTL + C) it.

  • Paste (CRTL + V) it into a document to save it for later.

To email a permalink to an article:

  • Click E-mail in the Tools menu.

  • An E-mail box will appear above the article title.

  • Type your email address in the E-mail to box. You can add a subject and comments if you would like.

  • Click Send.
  • A notification will pop up that your email was sent.

Only authorized users can access an article through a permalink. Log into the myIWU portal before you click on the link. Or you will be directed to the myIWU login screen.
