After Hours & Weekend Help

What a student does... What an OCLS librarian does...

Step One - Learn how to Research

Step Two - Personalized Search Plans

  • Use Personalized Search Plans (PSPs) as you start to learn how to use library databases and if you get stuck in your research.

  • Creates a personalized search plan for you with step-by-step instructions on how to search the databases and find articles for your assignment.
  • We do not pick out articles for you.

Step Three - Find Articles for Your Assignment

  • Follow the personalized search plan to find articles for your assignment.
  • Use what you learn to find articles for future assignments.

Step Four - Keep Learning How to Research

  • Use PSPs for your first few assignments and when you get stuck in your research.
  • As you learn how to use library databases, you will be ready to research on your own.

  • If you get stuck in your research, ask for a PSP.

Personalized Search Plans

  • OCLS Librarians send instructions on how to find articles in library databases.
  • We do not send specific articles.

Time Frame

  • We do not guarantee a same-day PSP.
  • For PSPs, please allow a minimum of two (2) business days (not including weekends or holidays) for OCLS to create your PSP.
  • Graduate (Master and Doctoral) PSPs, may require additional time.
