Save Your Article with a Permalink

Do you want to save a link to an article so you can read it later?

You need a permalink!

So copy the URL or link in my browser window, right? Not exactly.

When you are using OCLS databases, the link in your browser window changes each time you log in. If you save this URL or link, you will not be able to get back to the article.

The link in your browser window is not the permalink

The permalink is the permanent "address" for the article and will take you there every time.

The permalink can be found in different places, depending on which OCLS database you are using.

EBSCO Databases Tools Menu click Permalink.EBSCO Databases and OCLS QUICKsearch

  • Click on the title of the article.
  • Click Permalink in the Tools menu.
  • A Permalink box will appear above the article title.
  • Select this URL and Copy (CRTL + C) it.
  • Paste (CRTL + V) it into a document to save it for later.
