Don't Lose Your Searches, Save Them!
Have you ever created the perfect search with all your parameter (full text, peer-reviewed, publication date, etc.) and found the perfect articles only to lose them?
How much time did it take to try to recreate the search again?
Save your searches so you can always go right back to that one perfect search!
Last month we had a post about how you can save Permalinks to take you back to the article you want to save. Saving database searches is similar.
When you are using OCLS databases, the link in your browser window changes each time you log in. If you save this URL or link, it will not take you back to the search you created.
The permalink or persistent link is the permanent "address" for the search and will take you there every time.
The permalink can is found in different places, depending on which OCLS database you are using.
EBSCO Databases and OCLS QUICKsearch
ProQuest Databases
Other Databases
Permalinks are located in different places in each database.
If you have any questions about locating or saving a permalink, contact OCLS at 1-800-521-1848, email OCLS, or fill out our Request Form.
